Delivering Joy, One Elderly at a Time

The Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally a season of togetherness, a time where families gather, enjoy mooncakes, and celebrate the full moon that symbolises unity and love. For many seniors in Singapore who live alone or face challenges with mobility, the festive season can feel quiet and lonely.

This year, we set out to bring warmth and love to these elderly individuals through a simple but meaningful promise:
For every box of mooncakes purchased at Cafe Lodge, we will bless an elderly with a mooncake.

Thanks to the generous support of our customers, corporate partners, and donors, we successfully delivered over 200 mooncakes to elderly beneficiaries under our care. These included seniors supported by our YWCA community outreach programmes, as well as elderly centres from our community partners like Lion Befrienders.

Our staff and volunteers personally delivered mooncakes door-to-door and at eldercare facilities, taking time to offer company and conversation. For many seniors, the visit itself was the highlight — a reminder that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten. Smiles, grateful words, and even laughter filled the spaces we visited, making every step of the journey worthwhile.

This initiative reflects the heart of YWCA’s work to empower and care for the vulnerable in our community. A mooncake may be small, but when shared with love, it carries the message that someone cares.

To everyone who purchased a box of YWCA mooncakes, thank you for helping us spread joy this Mid-Autumn Festival. Together, let’s continue uplifting those who need it most, not only during festive seasons, but every day.
